DELUSIONS OF DESTINY

GUILD RULES

Revision 1.0 (August 10, 2007)

NO Rudeness to Fellow Guild Mates

We expect our guild to simply be polite and to have good manners. This is expected and helps to make the game experience enjoyable for everyone. Have respect for knowledgeable players and new players alike. The more fun you make the game for other players, the more enjoyable it will be for you.

ABSOLUTELY NO Racist, Bigoted or Sexist Comments

No warning on this one. Immediate kick. We have zero tolerance for folks intolerant to our beliefs ... fair warning now. Calling someone or some action you don't like "gay" is very highly discouraged. We should not have to explain this. We understand that many words are used today as slang, especially between friends. Accidents happen, but when a single person unintentionally makes an unacceptable comment in guild chat, it may have a detrimental effect on many people. This is simply not acceptable. If you have a problem with it – please find another guild.

Share with Fellow Guild Mates

If you have an item you do not need, please offer it to guild members first. You can also donate the item to the guild bank (DoDbank) if you are not sure. At times, however, we all need gold. Selling an item at the AH is an option if you like. Please keep in mind however, that generosity usually comes back to you 10 fold. Help guild mates when you can, and you will receive help in return.
Note: We are a very generous guild, but it is bad form for players to ask for gold the second they join the guild. This guarantees immediate placement on the watch list for getting booted.

NO Name Calling, Baiting, or Trolling for an Argument

We're here to have fun and enjoy playing the game. We all have enough stuff going on in real life – the game is entertainment. If you need an argument – go stare at yourself in the mirror.

No Ninja Looting

Ninja looting is just plain stealing. In Delusions of Destiny, there is absolutely no reason to ninja loot. All you have to do is ask and you have an entire guild helping you. “Need” is defined as items that you are able to equip now ... not 3 levels down the road. Need is not for disenchantment or an alt - unless we agree otherwise. Loot options can always be discussed – if you are unsure, please take a moment and ask an officer, patron, or veteran.

Group Cooperation

If your role in a group is a healer ... then heal. If you're a DPS class, watch your agro. Do not compromise the entire group because you want to top the damage meters. Also, guild groups first. This means no turning off guild chat. If you don't like the chatter, maybe we aren't the right guild for you. People might not be the same level as you, but a higher level may take time out of their day to help you anyway. On the same token, you need to group with guild mates when possible. This builds familiarity, and we need to know each other's play style in order to play more effectively together. Consistently being unavailable for guild groupings, especially when you're the right level, makes us wonder why you joined a guild in the first place. We don't expect you to drop everything you're doing to help out a guild mate every time, but we're in this to play together. Why bother joining if you don't want to play with your guild?

Have Fun & Kill Horde!

Seriously, this game is about having fun. It is not about who has the best gear, or who is raiding what instance. It is not about who's the highest level, because not everyone can play 24x7. It is not about how you might be better at something than someone else - we all have our strengths and weaknesses. This is about the experience of playing with others, learning from others, and enjoying our time together.

To succeed in the higher areas and higher levels of the game, we must work together as a team. We firmly believe that this is the most enjoyable and satisfying part of the game.

In addition, we are on a PvP server – which means, we are at “war.” Although this may be frustrating, discouraging, and down right annoying at times; there is no better feeling than getting killed only to have 20 guild mates come to the rescue. Ultimately, it makes the game challenging and fun.
